Guardian

The first time

you took me to the side

and spoke with me,

I was naive and foolish

and let your words

walk all over me.

I didn’t stand up,

and i regret it dearly,

but the time is coming again,

where you will attempt

to get your words onto me.

This time,

I know

my words

will leave marks

on you.

Home

I trek home,

through rain,

snow,

mud,

and bones.

I enter a home

where silence greets me,

and the skeleton

of happiness

glooms over me.

Amend

Oh, it was you alright.

The woman that sparked the change

within me.

A change that led me down a path

where i could no longer

sleep at night

without soaking my comfort

with tears.

To a place where i felt so alone,

and so stuck deep within my mind,

with no one close to saving me.

I lost my confidence,

and i sacrificed all my happiness

to you.

My darling,

you sparked a change in me,

a change to finally get help.

Election

I am scared

for all the women i know

who bear the scarf proudly.

Strong women

who are targeted

just for their freedom

to follow whatever they please.

This isn’t freedom,

it’s oppression.
